Megan Young has been the Junior High coach at Mansfield Christian for the past two years, she has also been instrumental in helping in the Biddy Ball program. Her desire as a coach is to always be a leader who is a student of the game so she can use that to prepare her players to develop their skills to the best of their abilities, while also teaching life lessons and the importance of walking in Christ. Her favorite motto is "There may be people that have more talent than you, but there's no excuse for anyone to work harder than you do." As a coach she only wants to see her players succeed in basketball and in life and wants to see them work hard at doing so.
Megan has been involved in numerous sports since the age of 6 but her passion has always been for basketball. She is a graduate of Ontario High School where she played varsity basketball for 3 years. She was also on a very successful varsity basketball team her junior year of High School in Marion Texas, where she earned All-District Honorable Mention. One of her greatest memories as a player is winning the NCC championship in 8th grade while at Ontario, as well as being on a national winning NAYB team.
Being a wife and mother is Megan's greatest blessing. She has been married for 10 years to her husband John-Mark whom she admires greatly for working hard to build a successful business and for also being her number one supporter of her as a coach. They reside in Ontario with their 3 children, Bella who is 8 and in 2nd grade at MCS, Nash is 6 and is in 1st grade at MCS and Landrie is 3 and will be starting Pre-K @ MCS this fall. They attend Westwood Alliance Church where Megan is very active as a Deaconess, Awana leader and a Disability Ministry leader. Megan's favorite bible verse is Psalm 28:7 " The Lord is my strength and my shield, in Him my heart trusts."
