Each family is paired with an experienced Academic Mentor who meets with them monthly to provide guidance and encouragement. MCS supplies high-quality curriculum and educational resources to ensure a rich academic experience aligned with state standards. Independent Studies students are required to complete state testing and maintain progress consistent with curriculum expectations. Our dedicated team of mentors carefully selects and recommends the most effective curriculum options to support student success.

K-12 Independent Study opportunities at MCS

Mansfield Christian’s K–12 Independent Studies Program offers a unique learning model that combines on-campus and off-campus educational experiences. Designed to meet Ohio State Educational Standards, the program empowers students to take ownership of their academic journey while receiving strong support and guidance. In grades K–6, the focus is on cultivating a love for learning through engaging, foundational instruction. In grades 7–12, students are encouraged to work at their own pace while achieving academic excellence. As fully enrolled students, participants in the Independent Studies Program have full access to the same academic resources, extracurricular activities, and student services as their peers in the traditional classroom setting.
