Mansfield Christian’s K–12 Independent Studies Program offers a unique learning model that combines on-campus and off-campus educational experiences. Designed to meet Ohio State Educational Standards, the program empowers students to take ownership of their academic journey while receiving strong support and guidance. In grades K–6, the focus is on cultivating a love for learning through engaging, foundational instruction. In grades 7–12, students are encouraged to work at their own pace while achieving academic excellence. As fully enrolled students, participants in the Independent Studies Program have full access to the same academic resources, extracurricular activities, and student services as their peers in the traditional classroom setting.
Students in grades K–6 are fully enrolled at Mansfield Christian School and supported by dedicated Academic Mentors who assist with lesson planning, grading, and overall academic guidance. MCS provides a strong, engaging curriculum designed to promote academic growth and a lifelong love of learning. Families are responsible for maintaining daily attendance, tracking grades, completing assigned coursework, and participating in annual state testing. Independent studies offer enrichment opportunities allowing K–6 students to explore new ideas and collaborate with their peers.
