The Best Schools
America has over 16 million high school students. Of these, about 1.3 million attend 12,000 private high schools, the majority of which are religiously affiliated and explicitly Christian.
In August of 2014, Mansfield Christian School was named one of the “Top 50 Christian High Schools in America” by TheBestSchools.org.
MCS was selected based on several weighted factors that include:
- Coeducational day schools (no boarding schools)
- Academic excellence
- Extracurricular richness (fine arts, athletics, social activities, etc.)
- Geographic and demographic diversity
- Christian faith taken seriously.
In compiling this list, reviews by parents and students were taken into account, in addition to geographic and demographic diversity.
While academic excellence and rigor are essential, for families with students at Christian high schools the overriding concern is to provide a rounded education that gives due respect to academics but refuses to idolize it, instead always holding faith at the center.
We were very grateful to TheBestSchools.org for selecting Mansfield Christian and we were most proud of our reputation for “always holding faith at the center.” The spiritual formation of students is one of our four “pillars” of focus for continuous improvement. The training of their children to become more like Christ is the number one reason families choose MCS. Therefore, we are intentional about planning and nurturing spiritual growth from PreK to grade 12.
