50th Anniversary March to 600
Join Us As We March Towards Our Goal To Shine Brighter For Christ!
Dear Friends, Families, and Alumni,
My family enjoys watching the TV show, Extreme Makeover – Home Edition. In a recent episode, one of the home builders made an interesting statement along these lines as to why he became involved in the project – I’ve come to realize that you can be successful and not be significant. This was my chance to be significant.
In December, I asked you to prayerfully consider becoming one of the 600 people needed to give $1,000 to MCS in 2011. In a very real and tangible way, I’m giving you the “chance to be
significant” in the lives of the children at MCS. As Christians, we know that our significance comes from Christ alone, but “good works” are an important outgrowth of our faith and we rarely realize how many people are impacted by our kindness.
MCS has impacted literally thousands of lives for the last 50 years. Children trained to love God and serve Him have influenced our community, our state, our nation, and our world. Those that support this ministry in prayer and financial gifts have great significance in the lives of future generations. This is a critical opportunity to be a part of something bigger than each one of us alone.
The number of people needed to reach our goal is down to 545. I’m looking for 545 more people to make a donation of $1,000 to MCS this year. If unable to make a one-time gift, perhaps you could give $200 for the next five months or $125 per month from March to October. We welcome any gift amount and simply ask that you would prayerfully consider how you can help MCS this year.
To the right is our progress towards reaching our goal of $600,00. We would love to hear your stories of how God has used MCS in your life. Please email Sara Hammett, your stories (Note: Your stories may be shared on our website.) Thank you for your prayers and support in the past – God has indeed blessed us through you!
Sincerely,
Dr. Cy J. Smith
Superintendent
