2005 Elementary Academic Achievements:

• The Accelerated Reader and the STAR reading program continue to facilitate an individual reading program and assessment of strengths for each student.
  


• Six published authors participated in our Annual Elementary Authors’ Fair, leading writing seminars for students and encouraging student writing.
  


• Students participated in the ACSI Creative Writing Contest with several elementary students earning an excellent or superior rating.
  


• Fifth grader, Amy Pugh, placed second in the Richland County Public Library Poetry Contest.
  


• Academic excellence continues in significant areas based on measurable standardized test results.
  


• Fifty-two students were chosen to represent Mansfield Christian School at the district ACSI Speech Meet with 48 students obtaining a Superior or an Excellent rating.
  


• Nate Knowlton received a superior rating for his creative writing which was sent on to ACSI Regional Finals.
  


• Our Early Childhood Department continued to expand with the new Mommy’s Day Out program designed for three year old students.
  


• Leadership and Timothy Awards were earned by Tyler Lilly, Thomas Vigesaa, Matthew Millard, and Katie Ellington.
  


• New technology and class web pages were implemented.
  


• Elementary students participated in “Jump Rope for your Heart” through their Physical Education classes. This is a program sponsored by the American Heart Association.
