Bursting At The Seams
If you walk the halls of MCS on a rainy day,
you will see just how we are bursting at the seams. Each classroom is near
capacity, the gyms concurrently serve as cafeterias and indoor recess
facilities, and there are two modular units outside to house even more
classes. Thankfully, our leaders considered this challenge three years
ago when they envisioned our growth.
During February, 2004, the Board and Administration finalized a long-range
plan to develop the fifty acres owned by the school. The first phase of
the plan includes a building addition with six classrooms, a cafeteria
with a kitchen, offices, and several tutoring rooms.
Groundbreaking News
We plan to break ground for the new wing in June, 2007, after this current
school year has ended. With this in mind we are seeking to have in place
two-thirds of the campaign goal raised through cash gifts, pledges, and
in-kind donations. The last phase of the campaign will focus on raising the
final third of the goal during the actual construction of the building.
The architect and construction managers have estimated that construction will
take 12 to 14 months. With the Lord’s help and guidance we plan to open the
doors to the new wing in August, 2008, for the 2008-09 school year.
Fueling the Flame
The flame represents our mission, a mission that believes it is critical for
the next generation to be grounded in Biblical truth. Mansfield Christian School
seeks to impart not only knowledge, but wisdom that will shape the hearts and
minds of young people and equip them to influence their world for Jesus Christ.
MCS has developed a tradition of excellence in academics, athletics, and
fine arts, and we will continue to enhance these programs in order to serve
more families. The daily passion of our skilled faculty and staff is to
provide an exceptional educational experience that is thoroughly grounded
in the truth of scripture.
